Pattern Testing Details & Questionnaire

Thank you so much for being here! I’m so honored you want to help me along my pattern design journey.

A few key notes about my Pattern Testing Program:

Since I’m a brand new quilt design business still working part-time gigs to make ends meet, I currently cannot pay pattern testers in cash. If that’s a deal breaker for you, I completely understand and hopefully you won’t hold it against me. My dream is to one day pay my testers for their work, but I need to get this business off the ground first!

To compensate people willing to participate, I’d like to help either provide the fabric for the quilt tops or gift fabric you might use in your own work. You are more than welcome to use your own fabrics for a pattern test - I want you to create something you love! - but you aren’t required to do so. You can also mix and match some of your fabric and some of mine! You’ll find that the questionnaire below has some sections about fabric color and design preferences. This is to help me learn more about your likes and dislikes, which will help me build fabric gifts for you later on!

You might has noticed that I used the phrase “quilt tops” rather than just quilts. I’m looking for people willing to make the smallest size listed in the patterns as a quilt top only - no backing, quilting, or binding required! If it’s a design you end up loving and want to finish, that’s fabulous! If you don’t have the time, resources or desire to finish it, that’s absolutely fine.

If you don’t have time to physically make a quilt top, I’m also looking for proof readers who quilt. If you have an extra hour to read through the written pattern to look for sewing-related errors, spelling mistakes or design flaws, that would be a massive help!

Lastly, I only plan on picking 1-2 pattern testers per pattern, along with 1-2 proof readers. If you’re in love with a design and really want to test a specific pattern, let me know! The finished quilt tops/quilts will be used for promotional materials, social media and may even hang in a quilt show booth to showcase my patterns. After all that’s completed, the quilts are yours to keep! (I also won’t be offended if you don’t want them back - trust me, they’ll be loved in my studio!)

About the Pattern Tester Questionnaire:

This questionnaire is designed to help me assess what patterns will work best with your skills, availability and desires. Plus, I want to have some general information about your likes and dislikes - are you a fan of vibrant solids or are you more of a neutral lover? Do you prefer bold, floral fabrics or subtle, subdued prints? That way, once you test your first pattern, I’ll know what types of fabrics and threads to pull for you!

All of the information you provide in this questionnaire will remain private and I will NEVER share it with sources outside of Rozalee Designs. This includes your address - I only need it to ship/deliver fabric and thank you goodies!

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to email me directly at rozaleedesigns@gmail.com.
