You want to avoid stitching through that fold, so go slow. I like to sew a few stitches, then lift up my foot and adjust, making sure the fold is out of the way. The bias tape is stretchy too, so feel free to pull at it while you sew to make sure it stays in place. Remember, fabric is maleable - you can push and pull, and make it do what you want! If you get through this process and don’t like the result, rip out to an inch before the dip and try again.
