When I worked at a fabric company, our office was regularly drowning in unused Charm Packs. Often tossed in our “free to take home” bin, I was intrigued enough to start taking them back to my studio. Now, 4 years later, I’m obsessed and can’t stop designing projects with them.
The Tuesday Morning Tote was initially called the One Plus Charm Tote, as it was designed for using one Charm Pack, plus a little extra. Most Charm Packs come with 40-42 squares, however this bag requires 44. I suggest using some of your lining fabric or adding in some scrappy squares that match your fabric collection - it’s a great exercise in building off a color palette!
A note about not using charms: you can cut 44 individual 5” squares from an array of fabrics, too. This works especially well with scraps, so try raiding your bins to create a fun color palette! You can also use a Layer Cake and cut the 10” squares down to 4x 5” squares each. One Layer Cake can make almost 4 bags (you’ll still need to add in 2x 5” squares per bag!), which could make a very fun, matching gift for all your besties!
